Sonar Community Seed Bank community is located in the Gosaba block of south 24 parganas district at GPS coordinates 22,23 within the Gangetic agro-ecological zone. Established in 2001 and managed by a SHG. It is led by Debargha Nandi (contact: 8768367122). The community conserves 4 major crops: rice, wheat, maize, ragi, maintaining their genetic resources and traditional knowledge.
